Join us for a walking tour of Domain Northside highlighting the sustainable features of this master planned development as well as several projects including:

This walking tour will highlight the sustainable features in the Domain Northside in a small group setting. The tour will begin with an overview of the site-wide features at the Domain Northside, including, but not limited to the following elements:

  • Connected and walkable community throughout
  • Consolidated parking structures with shared usage promotes parking and walking
  • Large percentage of materials used in construction are recycled or from Texas
  • Highly mixed use of space for working, living, entertainment, and exercise
  • Many projects located on remediated brownfield sites
  • Water bottle filling stations throughout site
  • Street bins with Recycling Collection
  • Engaging public spaces and sidewalks designed as a room
  • Centralized stormwater management 

The walkability of the Domain Northside will be demonstrated through the tour itself. Capital Metro bus routes, traffic calming features and other passive design features will be highlighted along many of the streets and buildings during the tour. Case studies for some of the projects will be delivered electronically to registrants prior to the tour to save on printing. Project team members will be at each tour stop to conduct site visits.

Attendance

Seminars are open to building professionals and other invited guests. RSVP is encouraged as there is limited space for this event. The seminars are approved for AIA Learning Units and GBCI CE Hours for LEED professionals. Certificates of Completion are provided for self-reporting.
